First got to know Rudy at the rugby trials for the new intake. I was a decent footballer never played rugby so it was literally a whole new ball game. Not sure if Rudy had played before either. There were two players who stood out almost immediately Alan Reeves & Rudy

Alan was tough strong he was to become our scrum half. Rudy was full of grace & elegance, moved like a gazelle Rudy would play outside centre.

We were useless for two years until Tony Clements, the maths teacher got hold of us & turned us into a team only one defeat ibb in two years

Unfortunately Alan left GD in circumstances that were never revealed. Rudy was our star player for those years
